All hail the saving power of Mama Kat and her writing prompts, patron saint of wayward NaBloPoMo participants everywhere.
But really, truly I’m thankful because here it is, 10:20 p.m. and I’ve been writing since 8:30 this morning but for work. And I’m now tired of and bored with words, and I’d like to just go pour myself a glass of wine and forget that I challenged myself to post everyday for 30 days. But I won’t. Instead, I’ll share a list of a few of my favorite things, in no particular order:
1. This podcast, featuring my sweet and super talented friend Kristin. She talks about setting goals and writing, and she’s inspiring and gracious and real.
2. Another podcast, but this one features Ali Edwards. I’ve followed Ali for quite some time, starting back when I scrapbooked. I admire her voice, how she’s built a business out of what she loves to do, and that she’s such a devoted mama to her two littles. This podcast is so full of genuinely good stuff, about being mindful and dealing with divorce and embracing the gray.
3. This post by my friend Johnna. I’m feeling it, too, the need to get out from behind the screen and soak up life instead of just writing about it.
4. This ice cream:
5. This wine:
6. I’m still playing music from ACL acts all day while I work. Lake Street Dive was one of my favorite sets, and their cover of Rich Girl still makes me chair-dance while I type:
What about you? I’d love to hear/see/read your favorite things, too!
I’m participating in NaBloPoMo, and posting everyday this month.
