Today, the ax came at me blade first.

So instead of trying to find words when I know I have none, I’m sharing Amy’s. Hers is one of the Listen To Your Mother: Kansas City videos that I most identified with, and I’ve been hearing it in my head all day. Even though my kids are older now, and the blades that flew today have nothing to do the quiet that comes when they’re gone, I still struggled with holding my shower curtain tight enough to get through unscathed.

After you watch Amy’s video, I hope you’ll head on over to her blog. She’s a fantastic writer. She makes me think. She’s a dynamo and a force for good. And I get to call her friend.

I’m participating in NaBloPoMo, and posting every day in November.
