Today was almost the perfect Mommy day. I loved it :) First took the boys to school, then took Erin to a special girls breakfast–she got a waffle and bacon. It was so cute and she was so excited…when we walked in the waitress said “well why are you so happy little one?” She was grinning from ear to ear.

After that I took lunch to Nicholas and spent some time at school with him because this week was his “Star Student” week. So we had lunch, I watched him play soccer at recess, then I read “Harold and the Purple Crayon” to his class (while he sat in my lap in the rocker). The kids were adorable and asked questions about the book.

Then spent the afternoon cleaning. I know lots of people wouldn’t think this is a perfect day, but I LOOOOOOOOVE cleaning the house and making it nice.

Dad & Karen came into town and even though they aren’t staying with us until tomorrow Dad had to come by to meet a guy he sold a side of beef to. The kids were so excited to see him, and he cracked me up–he walked into the living room and I made some comment about not looking at the mess (I have Christmas boxes stacked in the corner, waiting to decorate) and he said “actually it looks pretty good in here….things dont’ look in disarray at all. And the kids seem like they’re fine”.

As if he’d be walking into some den of chaos or something. He has such confidence in me :)
