Everywhere and nowhere.
My favorite place to be.

Everywhere bridges old and new
Comfort and excitement
Memory and wanderlust.

Dad's home in the quiet
My own place in the beige
Any corner booth my kids dive into
Every conversation with a friend.

Nowhere lingers in the corners
Always there. Always waiting.
Painfully patient.

Strongest when wishbone bullies backbone
And will gets lost in the way.

Nowhere seems more familiar.
Comfortable.
Strangely like the home I wish for
Instead of the one I once had.

Gratuitous selfie, taken today while on a field trip with Nicholas. 2 straight days with middle
schoolers make me do silly things, I guess. New glasses, rainy day hair.

Linking up with Mama Kat's Writing Workshop today. This post inspired by prompt #3: Write a poem about your favorite place to be.
