Back to those office politics again. Why the hell can’t I just go to work and do my job with ethical and hard working people? Why is that too much to ask?

There’s been a whole lot going on in my office lately. I had a conversation tonight with someone who is kind of the eyes & ears for the Regional Manager and she was pretty taken aback at some of the concerns I have (at least she said she was). It’s now my decision to allow her to go to the RM with these concerns, or for me to go to the head of HR at the corporate office with my concerns. Either way I don’t see how this is going to end well.

From what I’ve heard, the RM is a lot like the boss that I’m dealing with. So if I go over my boss’s boss’s head (because, let me tell you, there’s no talking to her. A conversation with her is like being a contortionist at Circque du Soleil–if she can bend it, twist it or manipulate it she will. And I just don’t play that game well) and voice my concerns it’s going to get ugly. But if I don’t, I’m no better than her because I’m seeing things happening and not saying anything–and by not doing or saying anything I become part of the problem.

So I need to figure out what to do. I really do enjoy this line of work, though I do think that I’d like it better without all the “questionable” people I’m dealing with. Then again, I know it doesn’t look good to job hop either….but after all this hits the fan I may have no choice.

Nothing like a little Sunday night stress to start the week off well.
